What happens if my distributor ignores the letter?
The letter is written to be escalated. Every claim carries a statement reference, a rate source, and a figure — which is what a collecting society or a music lawyer needs to take it further. Stavemusictech tracks the dispute through acknowledgement and settlement, and our Head of Rights advises on escalation.
Do you take a cut of what I recover?
No. Stavemusictech is a subscription. If we found you ₦2M and you recovered all of it, you still pay ₦18,000 that month. We are not incentivised to inflate a claim, which is exactly why a distributor should take our letters seriously.
Which distributors do you support?
Any of them. Stavemusictech reads the statement rather than integrating with the distributor, so a format we have never seen still parses. If one genuinely defeats the parser, it goes to our analyst and becomes a supported format.
What if the audit finds nothing?
Then your distributor is paying you correctly, and you now have an auditable record saying so. That is worth having.
